The participants who took part at the Matara Training Programme with Youth Business Sri Lanka of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce
Youth Business Sri Lanka of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and the National Human Resources Development Council of Sri Lanka, recently trained over 230 budding entrepreneurs on the finer skills of entrepreneurship under the ‘Promoting and Empowering the Small and Medium Entrepreneurs’, project which is carried jointly by the two institutions.
Accordingly, three separate training programs were held covering the districts of Pollonnaruwa, Matara and Kandy and the participants were imparted with the knowledge of Administration, Financial Management, Market Identification, Managerial Issues and Strategies and Policy Framework (Tax, Audit, Registration).
Accordingly, 86 entrepreneurs from the district of Polonnaruwa, 90 from Matara and 50 entrepreneurs from the Nawalapittiya Divisional secretariat took part in the training programs.
The entrepreneurs, who underwent training programs are engaged in businesses such as Brick making, Carpentry, producing and marketing spices, Tailoring and construction.

The program also found entrepreneurs engaged in businesses such as operating hair salons, garages, black smith workshops, wholesale and retail trade, welding, astrology and restaurants etc.
