October 18, 2022 (LBO) - Shehan Karunatilaka has won the Booker Prize, one of most prestigious awards for literature in the world today.
He is only the second Sri Lankan who has won the prize in its 53 year history, after world renown author Michael Ondaatje.

Both are Old Thomians.
After receiving the award from the Queen Consort, he spoke briefly about his journey as an author, and the award winning book, "The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida."
