The Sri Lanka Economic Virtual Summit (SLES)will have a session focusing on unlocking competitiveness for domestic industries by leveragingon technology, skills, policy and value addition. This session will examine how Sri Lanka can position itself to be competitive with the global trend of trade realignment. Case studies of countries and companies that are punching above its weight will be examined as examples for Sri Lankan private sector to take note of.
The presenters at this plenary will include Mr. Nguyen Luong Hien - Partner - Head of Deals / Strategy, PricewaterhouseCoopers (Vietnam), Dr. Anush Amarasinghe - Managing Director, BPPL Holdings PLC, Mr. Suranga Herath - Chief Executive Officer, English Tea Shop (UK). The presenters will be joined by Mr. Chulananda Perera - Secretary, Ministry of Industries Dr. DushniWeerakoon – Executive Director, Institute of Policy Studies for a plenary discussion and the session will be moderated by Ms. Roshanie Jayasundera Moraes - Executive Vice President, John Keells Group.
The two-day virtual summit will bring together keyGovernment officials, key policymakers, business leaders as well as the input of top international thought leaders to identify the steps in developing a Roadmap for Take-off. The theme is reflective of the need to accelerate the economic recovery post the pandemic and focus on key levers to drive a people-centric economic revival.
The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will be organizing the SLES 2020 on the 1st and 2nd of December 2020. This will be the 20th consecutive year the Chamber is organizing the country’s foremost economic event.
