UAL only Sri Lankan company in Forbes Asia’s 200 ‘Best under a Billion’ 2018 list
Jul 30, 2018 (LBO) - Sri Lanka's Union Assurance PLC, a life insurance provider has made it to Forbes Asia’s 2018 list of 'Best under a Billion ' list of the top 200 publicly listed companies in the Asia-Pacific region.
The list name 200 public companies in the Asia Pacific region with annual revenue between US 5 million dollars and US 1 billion dollars, have positive net income and have been publicly traded for at least a year.
“Our annual Best Under a Billion list honors 200 small- to medium-sized enterprises in the Asia Pacific region with sales under $1 billion and a track record of strong top- and bottom-line growth,” Forbes Asia said in a recent statement.
“This year’s roster saw an average 62% growth in annual sales to generate a combined $45 billion, and netted $9 billion in profit.”
From over 24,000 companies, the companies were selected on sales/revenue and earnings growth in the past 12 months and over three years, and for the strongest five-year return on equity.
Overall, more than half (107) of the listees generated all their revenue within the Asia Pacific region; 137 generated 90 percent or more of their business there.
Four Indian companies, Kolkata-based manufacturer of graphite electrodes, Graphite India, Mumbai-headquartered alcohol manufacturer G.M. Breweries, Chennai-based cloud solutions provider, 8K Miles Software Services and New Delhi-based BLS International Services are also on the list.
Companies from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan account for over half of our list with 108 entries, up slightly from last year (100).
