"We are having discussions and looking at opportunities," Vijendran Watson, from the Singapore-based Insight Infrastrucure, a unit of US-based American Tower Company, told LBO.
"We build and maintain towers and offer them to operators. Then everyone does not have to build their own towers.

At one time Watson headed Sri Lanka's Mobitel, a celco, when it was set up as a build operate transfer project with Australia's Telstra becoming the island's second mobile operator.
Sri Lanka's mobile sector is shared by Dialog Axiata a unit of Malaysia's Axiata, Etisalat, Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel, Hutchison Telecom and India's Airtel.
Insight Infrastructure is participating in a US-Sri Lanka business forum organized by the island's embassy in the Washington and US authorities.
His firm already own and operates 8,000 towers in India, where independent tower operators are separately licensed.
