"I am pleased to be returning to Hutch Sri Lanka again to lead it to the next chapter of its development," Nadarasa said in a statement.
"Hutch has recently invested in one of the largest and most advanced 3G networks that already covers all 25 districts of Sri Lanka.
"I look forward to bringing affordable, high quality wireless data and internet connectivity to people in all parts of Sri Lanka that will allow them to have access to the same global internet products and services that is already available to people in the western world.
"
Nadarasa has been at Hutchison 14 years. He was last in the Middle East deploying GSM networks into the Central Africa region, the statement said.
