Sri Lanka’s government reduce gas prices

Jan 29, 2015 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s new government reduced the price of 12.5 Kilogram cylinder of gas by 300 rupees. Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake announced the new adjustment in presenting the interim budget 2015 to the parliament.

He said the price has been reduces as a measure to reduce the cost of living of the people.

We are left to wonder why the benefit of the sharp decrease in global gas prices could not be passed on to the people of Sri Lanka, Ravi Karunanayake, Minister of Finance said.

May be it will be another story of misdeeds and corruption that will be headlined within the near future.

The new price of a 12.5kg gas cylinder would be 1596 rupees with effect from the mid night today.
