Sri Lanka’s BOI launches online investment portal

Sept 19, 2013 (LBO) - Sri Lanka has launched Board of Investment launched an online portal for investors to submit applications making it even easier, investment promotions minister Lakshman Abeywardene said.

"This makes it very easy for investors to submit applications," he told reporters. "They can also pay the relevant fees."

An investor can create a login for himself choose a sector and fill out the application at http://www.investsrilanka.com/application/user/login.

He can go back and edit or add information before submitting.

The BOI will then accept the application for processing as in investment, ask for additional information or reject.

An accepted document does not mean that investment approval is given, but simply that the application is accepted for processing, an official said.

The investor then has to pay the processing and application fees.
