Sri Lanka stocks down 0.06 pct

Aug 06, 2012 (LBO) - Sri Lanka stocks closed flat Monday after opening trade on a positive note, brokers said. The All Share Price Index slipped 2.97 points to close at 4,928.50 down 0.06 percent. The Milanka index of more liquid stocks slid 0.48 points to close at 4,380.27.

The S&P 20 Index of large cap stocks fell 0.23 percent (06.40 points) to close at 2755.59.

The day's turnover of 353.8 million rupees was dominated by John Keells Holdings with 214.6 million rupees, National Development Bank with 15.7 million rupees and Lion Brewery with 10.9 million rupees.

Top gainers for the day were Paragon up 26.42 percent to close at 1,890.00 rupees, percent to close at 10.00 rupees.

Aviva NDB Insurance PLC gained 15.70 to close at 279.70 up 5.93 percent.

Colombo Dockyard gained 0.70 cents to close at 190.00 rupees. Commercial bank closed at 97.60 rupees.

DFCC rose 1.40 to close at 109.40 up 1.30 percent. Dialog Axiata closed flat at 6.00 rupees.
