Sri Lanka stocks closed up 1.6-pct
Jan 21, 2016 (LBO) – Sri Lankan stocks closed up 1.59 percent after four days of losses with gains across the board as regional markets were also all in the green, brokers said.
The Colombo benchmark All Share Price Index closed higher 99.38 points at 6,360.56 up 1.59 percent. S&P SL20 closed 44.61 points up at 3,285.69 up 1.38 percent.
Turnover was at 986 million rupees, with 151 stocks closing positive against 18 negative.
The main index showed gains in Distilleries Company with the stock closing at 225.10 rupees, up 10.10 rupees and Bukit Darah closed at 400.00 rupees up 19.10 rupees.
Lanka Orix Leasing closed at 77.00 rupees, up 6.00 rupees.
In Banking, Commercial Bank closed at 127.00 rupees, up 1.50 rupees and Sampath Bank closed at 229.80 rupees, up 5.20 rupees.
