Sri Lanka stocks close up 0.20-pct: JKH gains
Jun 23, 2015 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s stocks closed up at 0.20 percent for the second consecutive day with index heavy stocks showing gains, Tuesday, brokers said.
The Colombo benchmark All Share Price Index (ASPI) closed 14.31 points higher at 7,053.96 up 0.20 percent.
The S&P SL20 closed 25.77 points higher at 3,938.46 higher at 0.66 percent.
Turnover was 810 million rupees, up from 489 million rupees Monday with 78 stocks closing positive against 73 negative.
“JKH was the reason for the main index to close positive with the stock contributing 186 million rupees (23%) to turnover,” Lanka Securities said.
The main index showed gains in John Keells Holding closing at 207.40 rupees, up 7.30 rupees with two off the floor trades of 400,000 shares recorded at 208.00 rupees.
Carson and Cumberbatch closed at 405.00 rupees, up 5.00 rupees.
In Banking, Sampath Bank closed flat at 259.30 rupees with one off the floor trade of 100,000 shares at 260.00 rupees.
Commercial Bank closed at 161.00 rupees, down 0.6 rupees and DFCC closed flat at 200.00 rupees.
Dialog closed at 11.00 rupees flat.
