Sri Lanka stocks close flat
Apr 10, 2015 (LBO) - Sri Lanka's stocks closed flat with low investor activity due to the upcoming new year holidays, brokers said.
The Colombo benchmark All Share Price Index closed 1.77 points higher at 6,901.06 up 0.03 per cent. The S&P SL20 closed 6.16 points lower at 3,888.33 down 0.16 per cent.
Turnover was 605.2 million rupees with 83 stocks closing positive against 71 negative.
Foreign investors bought 318.88 million rupees worth shares while selling 82.50 million rupees worth shares.
Lion Breweries closed at 623.80 up 17.80 rupees and Distilleries Company closed at 238.00 up 3.00 rupees.
FLC Joint Venture Company (pvt) Ltd, a fully owned subsidiary of Browns Investment and holding company FLC Holdings purchased 40,000,000 shares of FLC Holdings at 1.50 rupees, yesterday.
Browns Investments closed flat at 1.70 rupees and FLC Holdings closed at 1.60 rupees up 0.10 rupess with 48 million shares changing hands.
