Sri Lanka ruling party says electoral reforms would be brought; election dates may change

Mar 09, 2015 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s ruling United National Party (UNP) today said that electoral reforms would be brought in the forthcoming elections if all other parties agreed.



The new government had said that it would hold the election on of April 23. Kariyawasam said this date might change.







According to the 100-day programme we will go ahead with the election but the date might be slightly changed.

Also he confirmed the speculation that Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) ministers will contest under UNP ticket. There are a few members of the SLFP who wanted to contest with us.
