Sri Lanka RAM Ratings get new directors

Jan 15, 2010 (LBO) - Sri Lanka's RAM Ratings unit said two new directors, Preethi Jayawardena and Liza Mohn Noor have been appointed to its board from January 2010.



Jayawardena is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, is managing director of Chemanex Plc.



, a listed firm, a member of the monetary policy consultative committee of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.

He is also a member of the executive council of the Institute of Directors of Sri Lanka. He has been with Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines for more than 12 year in Treasury operations.

Liza is chief executive of of Malaysia’s RAM Rating Services Berhad and has been with the firm since 1991, RAM Ratings Lanka said.

During the 1997/98 regional economic crisis, Liza had been seconded to the corporate debt-restructuring committee (or CDRC), a body affiliated to the country's central bank, which was involved re-structuring state run firms.

She has also been in merchant banking where she has advised government privatization schemes and has post graduate qualifications in Islamic banking.
