Sri Lanka parliament to start Bond debate today and continue after LG polls
Feb 06, 2018 (LBO) - Parliament will commence the debate of the findings of the Presidential Commission on treasury bond scam and the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources and Privileges (PRECIFAC), Tuesday.
At a party leaders meeting the the Speaker of the House also decreed the debate would be taken up once again on 21 and 22 February.
The two reports were handed over to the Secretary General of Parliament on the 17th of January 2018.
Meanwhile, Owner of Perpetual Treasuries Limited (PTL) Arjun Aloysius and Chief Executive Officer Kasun Palisena who were arrested in connection with the bond issue were yesterday ordered to be further remanded till February 16 by the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court.
