Sri Lanka Muslim Party to support Maithri

Dec 29,2014 (LBO) - Sri Lanka's main Muslim party, Sri Lanka Muslim Congress Sunday quit the government and pledged support to the opposition Candidate Maithripala Sirisena at the forthcoming Presidential Election, a media report said. Muslims, the second largest minority in the island after Hindu Tamils, account for about 10 percent. Sri Lanka Muslim Congress leader Rauff Hakeem has made the announcement who made this announcement was quoted saying , said his party’s decision to quit the government was mainly due to lack of good governance in present regime.
