Sri Lanka ministry of industry to assist with ISO certification for SMEs
Feb 02, 2017 (LBO) - Sri Lanka's Ministry of Industry and Commerce will initiate a programme to assist in obtaining international standard certifications for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 22000 and ISO 50001 for local small and medium industries.
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce has initiated a programme to support local small and medium industries, whose annual turnover is less than 750 million rupees and permanent employment less than 300 to the 1st Jan. 2017, to obtain international standard certificates with the intention of improving industry productivity, sustainability, food safety and hygiene.
Benefits of the program are full initial certification fee, up to the maximum of the 200,000 rupees, will be reimbursed upon the submission of above certificates.
Consultation fee up to the maximum of 100,000 rupees will be reimbursed if the consultation service is provided by a government recognized institution. Continuous guidance will be provided for the period of certification process.
Those who are interested to apply for the above programme are requested to send a self-prepared application including: company details, type of product, volume of annual production, value of export, annual turnover, no. of employments send to the given address on or before 09th February 2017.
