Sri Lanka Forex Association gets new head

Sept 03, 2013 (LBO) - Sri Lanka Forex Association, made up members engaging in dealing Treasury related products in the island's interbank markets covering 22 banks has elected P A Lionel, as its President. Lionel, a senior deputy general manager at state-run Bank of Ceylon, counts 30 years of experience in banking where 25 years has been in the areas of treasury, international and investment and is one of the most senior members of the forex and treasury community.

He has also been trained in London and has been head of Treasury at Bank of Ceylon's Karachchi branch. He has also headed BoC's Treasury and its primary dealer unit.

Under his leadership the Bank of Ceylon launched two US dollar denominated bond raising a billion US dollars.

He is also a director The Lanka Hospitals Corporation Plc, Property Development Plc, Koladeniya Hydropower (Pvt) Ltd., Ceybank Asset Management Ltd.

He is a member of Cabinet appointed Procurement Committee of Ceylon Petroleum Corporation.
