May 23, 2017 (LBO) - Sri Lankan ex- Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake, who was sworn in as the new foreign affairs minister at the Presidential Secretariat Monday, visited his former ministry to thank officials and personal staff and bid farewell.
Minister Ravi Karunanayake thanked all ministry officials and his private staff who assisted him in the last two and half year period which allowed him to perform his service to the country, a statement said.

Karunanayake also said that as the new foreign minister, a broad responsibility had been laid on his shoulders.
Under Karunanayake the local economy was beginning to stabilize with tax reforms and reduced money printing.
He was also awarded the title of ‘Finance Minister of the Year for Asia-Pacific-2016' by The Banker magazine earlier this year.
