President instructs all Govt. appointments should be cleared by his office

Nov 23, 2018 (LBO) - Sri Lanka's President has informed all Ministry Secretaries that all appointments should be first cleared from his Office. A circular to all Ministry Secretaries was issued by the President’s Secretary Udaya Seneviratne to this effect, yesterday. The circular instructed Ministry Secretaries to appoint senior administrative officers suitable with similar ranks as Additional Secretaries or retired officers on a temporary basis to any vacant position in State-run enterprises. Earlier, the two appointments of Dr. Nalaka Godahewa as Chairman of Sri Lanka Insurance and Kapila Chandrasena to SriLankan Airlines was withdrawn.
