An Rs 12 bn road development programme, over the next 4 years, is waiting for donor and lending agency funding. “We have identified and submitted to the government, long term road development projects, for donor funding,” said P Dayananda, General Manager, Road Development Authority(RDA).

Long term development is billed at Rs 12 bn over the next two to four years.
The RDA hopes to bring roads to pre-tsunami conditions by end of 2005 at the cost of around Rs 5 bn.
