The power cuts that are currently being implemented on a daily basis will not be extended to factories owned by the Board of Investment, which plays an important role in the country's economy, Power and Energy Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi said.
BOI officials who met the Minister have stated that the work of many of these factories has been disrupted due to the daily power cuts.
At present, there are about 14 trade zones in Sri Lanka under the Board of Investment.
