New Zealand keen to broaden investment in Sri Lanka

Mar 08, 2017 (LBO) - The Government of New Zealand expects to broaden existing investment in Sri Lanka and is ready to assist in economic development activities in the island, the finance ministry said in a statement.







New Zealand wants to provide technical support in infrastructure development and assist in developing the agricultural sector of the island, David Benette, New Zealand transport minister who is currently visiting Sri Lanka said. "The decision was taken after taking the current favorable economy of the island into consideration.





The political and economic environment prevailing at a conducive level, so we expect to further invest.

" He made these comments following a meeting with Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake at the Ministry, Tuesday. Expressing her views during the meeting, the new High Commissioner of New Zealand in Sri Lanka Joanne Kempers said that she appreciates the opportunity to serve in Sri Lanka.
