New Chief

May 22, 2013 (LBO) - Sri Lanka based MillenniumIT a unit of London Stock Exchange has appointed John Mackay Gill, ex-senior vice president of SunGard Data System Inc of the US as its chief executive. "Mack has had an exceptional career at SunGard and has a wealth of experience in financial services technology, operations, product support and sales," Antoine Shagoury, LSE group chief operating officer said in a statement.

"He also brings with him the excellent strategic and international management skills developed whilst working as a senior executive in a large global business.

"This will be of tremendous value to MillenniumIT and the Group as we continue to grow the business."

Gill will be based in Colombo and work closely with MillenniumIT founder Tony Weerasinghe, who is non-executive chairman of the firm and director global business development at LSEG. "Millennium has had an extraordinary history since I founded it in 1996 and now provides market leading trading and capital markets technology to over 30 organisations worldwide, including London Stock Exchange Group," Weerasinghe said.
