Jun 23, 2020 (LBO) – Nation Lanka Finance (NLF) announced the appointment of Suresh M. Amerasekera as their new CEO with effect from 9 June 2020.
He was functioning as the COO of NLF, from September 2, 2019.
Suresh is a Senior Banker, with over 35 years of experience in the Finance Industry.
He last held the position as the CEO of Pan Oceanic Bank, the Solomon Islands from May 2016 to September 2018.
Prior to that, he held the position as the CEO of Housing Development Finance Corporation and Orient Finance PLC.
For the last 12 years, he held five positions in the “C Suite” in 2 Banks and 3 Finance Companies, including the current position.
He has also served as the Assistant General Manager at Seylan Bank and as the Chief Operating Officer at Alliance Finance Co PLC and had his initial training in banking at the Colombo branches of State Bank of India and Bank of America.
Amerasekera holds an MBA (International Business) from Edith Cowan University, Western Australia, and Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting from Chartered Institute of Management Accountants UK.
He has a proven track record in Strategy Formulation, Corporate and Retail Lending, and Risk Management.
According to the Chairman of the Company Victor Ramanan, Suresh‘s substantial exposure in the industry would definitely help the company on its restructuring and strategy formulation to meet the new challenges in the industry.
NLF was incorporated as a public quoted company on July 1987 and the current directors are V.R.Ramanan, (Chairman), U.H. Dharmadasa (Deputy Chairman), H.
J.C.Perera, J. Rudra, P.M.L.K.Karunaratne, and K.M.S Kandegedera.
