Hotel Show Colombo 2016 with over 250 stalls from over 20 countries

The 11th edition of the Hotel Show Colombo 2016 will be held from the 22nd – 24th July 2016 at The BMICH, in Colombo. This year the Hotel Show will focus on its theme Hospitality Industry Vision 20 – 20. The organizers expect to bring out futuristic displays and innovations at this fair for the benefit of the local and regional hospitality industry. The Chairman of the organizing committee and past president of the Ceylon Hotel School Graduates Association (CHSGA) Mr. Trevine Gomez said that the exhibition itself will have many new value additions such as a specialized app for the benefit of the exhibitors and visitors along with high-tech signage. The whole event will be taken to another level to keep up with its theme Hospitality Industry Vision 20 – 20. The many visitors from all over the country ranging from Jaffna to Hambantota & Colombo to Pasikudha will be invited through its specialized buyer coordination programme. A special focus will also be given to the Boutique Hotel Segment in Sri Lanka which is a fast growing Market with almost over 800 boutique hotels in the country. A special buyer coordination programme has been put in place to attract this segment. This event will also attract new and upcoming properties which will help them to steer their projects with much ease. Hotel show will have exhibitors displaying products and services from all over the world covering all needs of the hospitality industry from bed linen to kitchen equipment. This year’s Hotel Show Colombo which coincides with the 50th Year celebration of Sri Lanka Tourism is organized by the Ceylon Hotel Schools Graduates Association (CHSGA). CHSGA is the alumni of the Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism & Hotel Management (SLITHM). 90% of the General Managers of the hotels and resorts in Sri Lanka are members of the CHSGA. This event is the main highlight in the Calendar of events for the hoteliers in Sri Lanka. Hotel Show Colombo which has over 250 stalls from over 20 countries is the largest Hospitality Trade Fair in South Asia. Over 10,000 people from Sri Lanka and the Region are expected to visit this show. This event is endorsed by SLTDA, THASL and other Regional Hotel Associations. Currently the tourism industry is the fastest growing industry in Sri Lanka and it’s expected to attract over 2.5 million tourists. Many new hotels and resorts are being built in Sri Lanka. Hotel Show Colombo will play a significant role in keeping up with the demand from the industry for hotel supplies and services. The last Hotel Show Colombo 2015 was inaugurated by His Excellency Maithreepala Sirisena the president of Sri Lanka and this year too he has been invited to be the Chief Guest. On the sidelines of Hotel Show Colombo a special function will be held for the hotel owners and decision-makers that will enable them to interact with the suppliers and this would be an exclusive event featured during the Hotel Show Colombo 2016. Concurrently the Finals of the National Bartenders Competition and the Sri Lankan National Barista Championship will be held during Hotel Show Colombo. The Colombo Food Festival will also be held at BMICH in order to cater to the industry personnel and public that visit the show. Ten 5 Star hotels from Colombo will be present with their stalls offering cuisines such as Japanese, Indian/Mogul, Middle Eastern, Chinese, Sri Lankan, Italian and Thai.
