July 29, 2008 (LBO) - The Cranfield School of Management in the UK has offered a Master of Business Administration scholarship to any member of Sri Lanka's three leading accountancy bodies.











Cranfield MBA alumni from Sri Lanka include Hatton National Bank managing director Rajendra Theagarajah, senior vice president of WNS Arul Sivagananathan and Stretchline group financial controller Hasantha de Silva.

Candidates from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Institute of Chartered Accountants Sri Lanka (ICASL) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants Sri Lanka Branch (CIMA) are eligible, an ACCA statement said.

"I hope this initiative will signal the birth of a new generation of professional skilled managers who will add value to the corporate boardrooms of Sri Lanka," it quoted former ACCA Sri Lanka president, Dilshan Rodrigo, himself an alumni of Cranfield, as saying.
