The ICT Agency is filing its paperwork before rolling out information systems across the island, linking the Government engine to offer citizen services over the internet and increasing efficiency and transparency in its services. A set of Nation-wide Enterprise Architecture (NEA) standards and guidelines are being drawn up to guide work under the eSri Lanka initiative.

ICT Agency officials say the sheer scale of the eSri Lanka initiative will require a uniform flow and a common and compatible formats, making information exchange and sharing easy and efficient between all state entities.

The development of NEA Standards and Guidelines is mainly targeted for IT personnel working in the agencies, and also for IT consultants who have been selected for agencies’ ICT implementation.

A complete eGovernment blueprint on implementing successful eGovernment projects have already been finalized in 2004.
