Government expedites paying EPF for housing and medical activities

Jan 07, 2016 (LBO) – Sri Lanka's government will expedite the process to pay 30 percent of the EPF to applicants who seek funds for housing and medical activities, Co-cabinet Spokesman Rajitha Senaratne said.

According to the provisions of the Employees’ Provident Fund Act No 15 of 1958 amended by the act no 2 of 2012, releasing of 30 percent of the EPF for housing activities and medical facilities commenced in mid 2015.

Senaratne further said 70,269 applications have so far been received in this regard while 5.



5 billion rupees has been paid for 7,537 applications.
