The union joins the global tourism company TUI AG with a turnover exceeding 12.8 billion euros with over 64,500 staff and one of the leaders in the leisure industry in Sri Lanka.
Aitken Spence, the country's second-largest diversified group, has more than 40 units and associates focused mainly on tourism and cargo handling.
It also has operations in power generation, manufacturing, property development and management services, as well as interests in tea and rubber plantations. The US$ 100 mn turnover group employees over 4,000 employees.
