Indian IT services giant Videsh Sanchara Nigam Ltd (VSNL) is finalising its service offer for Sri Lanka, with initial plans to push out an international calling card by August.
Separate cards for calling Sri Lanka and to call out of the island is planned, VSNL sources told LBO on Friday.

rnVSNL is currently procuring an interconnection agreement with incumbent operator, Sri Lanka Telecom, allowing it to terminate international calls to above 80 per cent of the countrys fixed line subscribers. rn
rnIn February this year VSNL started transferring part of its international bandwidth through the SEA-ME-WE III submarine cable to its Sri Lankan operations.rn
rnVSNL is currently routing data traffic through the submarine capacity to operate HSBCs call centre operation located at the World Trade Centre, and international voice traffic from some of the local telecom service providers.rn
rnHSBCs US$ 30 mn call centre is the largest of such operation to be set up in Sri Lanka so far, with the capacity
