President Gotabaya Rajapaksa stated that he will consider
acting in compliance with the Constitution on the proposals put forward by the
Bar Association of Sri Lanka to overcome the current political and economic
instability.
The President made these remarks at a discussion
held with the Executive Committee of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka yesterday
(08) at the President's House, Colombo.
Based on the current situation, the Bar
Association of Sri Lanka presented 13 main proposals to its Executive Committee
and they were passed unanimously.
The President discussed the implementation of
these proposals and emphasized the importance of upholding the rule of law in
the process.
During the lengthy discussion held on these
proposals between the President and the Executive Committee of the
Bar Association of Sri Lanka, all proposals were taken into consideration.

Saliya Pieris PC, Secretary Attorney-at-Law Isuru Balapatabendi and other
members of the Executive Committee were present at the meeting.
