Colombo stocks in a slumber to finish the week
June 22, 2018 (LBO) - The Colombo Stock Exchange finished the week with not a bang, but a whimper. Stocks finished flat with both major indices (ASPI and S&P SL 20) closing almost unchanged.
Turnover was very light at Rs277mn (US$1.7mn).
The recent trend of foreign selling continued with today's net foreign sales of Rs72mn (US$450,000)
The market traded in a tight range with very little volume leaving participants to compare it to watching the proverbial paint dry.
For the week, the ASPI was down 1.6% and the S&P SL 20 was down 2.8%.
Net foreign selling for the week was Rs160mn (US$1mn).
Next week is the last trading week of the quarter.
