BBS to support the leader who support the country, nationality and religion

Nov 28, 2014 (LBO) – General Secretary of Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) yesterday said that their organization would support the leader who supports the country, nationality and religion at the forthcoming Presidential election on January, next year. BBS also said that it would strongly oppose against the Muslim extremists in the country, but their organization has no disputes with the Muslim community.

However common candidate Maithripala Sirisena was quoted in a media report saying that he is not surprised and okay with the decision taken by the BBS to back President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the election.

It was a hard to take this decision,Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera said at a press conference held yesterday.

We first thought to present a national leader. But then we understood it is not the right time,

We would support the leader who supports the country, nationality and religion,

We would support the leader who saved the country from 30 years of terrorism,

Also we would like to urge the government that even though you won the war, no one voted to give power to chomp the country,but we would like to see an environment where the leader of the country can retire respectfully rat
