Deakin will become Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Bahrain, replacing Patrick Gallagher.
"These appointments are a true reflection of HSBC’s global expertise and management strength," Guy Harvey-Samuel, group general manager and HSBC Asia Pacific said in a statement.

"Between the three of them, their careers with HSBC have spanned across Asia, Europe, Middle East, Latin America and Africa.
Our operations in Bahrain, Korea and Sri Lanka and Maldives will unquestionably gain from Matthew’s, Martin’s and Patrick’s invaluable experience and leadership."
