Sri Lanka stocks close down 0.4-pct: 21 month low
Dec 22, 2015 (LBO) – Sri Lankan stocks closed down at 0.39 percent for a second consecutive day with index heavy stock making losses, brokers said.
The Colombo benchmark All Share Price Index closed down at 27.18 points at 6,854.57 down 0.39 percent. S&P SL20 closed 23.05 points down at 3,605.25 down at 0.64 percent.
Turnover was at 263 million rupees, lower than the daily average of 1.1 billion rupees with 40 stocks closing positive against 64 negative.
The main index showed losses in John Keells Holdings closing at 175.00 rupees, down 5.00 rupees with three off the floor traded amounting to over 690,000 shares at 175 rupees.
Nestle Lanka closed at 2,062.20 rupees, down 40.80 rupees and Ceylon Tobacco Company closed at 975.00 rupees, down 5.00 rupees.
There was a net foreign out flow of 19 million with foreign participation at 54 percent.
