Chamber wins GOLD at ICASL Annual Report Awards

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce won the ‘GOLD’ award for Overall Excellence in Annual Financial Reporting under the Not-For-Profit organizations category at the grand finale of the 51st Annual Report Awards Competition, organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka. This is the 5th time, the Ceylon Chamber has won a Gold for its Annual Report at the CA Sri Lanka Annual Report Awards competition, under the Not-For-Profit organizations category, which also includes the non-governmental organizations. In several other occasions, the Chamber has also won ‘Silver’ and ‘Bronze’ awards for its annual report at the same competition. The latest ‘Gold’ award was received by Mrs. Alikie Perera, The Deputy Secretary General of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce at the grand finale of the 51st Annual Report Awards Competition, which took place on the 3rd December in Colombo. ‘We are proud to have won the ‘Gold’ award under the non-profit category, once again. This award is a significant one for the Chamber as it stands with our core principles, which focuses on promoting transparency, accountability and corporate governance’, said Mrs. Alikie Perera, who is also the Financial Controller of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. This year’s CA Sri Lanka Annual Reports Awards has been taken part by nearly 144 companies and according to the organizers,this has the highest number of entries in the history of the competition. The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, an institution that has served the Nation for 176 years, is a confederation of 8,500 business entities, consisting of small & medium to large conglomerates, both private and quoted and Sri Lankan & multinational - 21 Business Councils, 21 Trade Associations and 22 Regional, Sectoral and Other Chambers. It is affiliated to over 120 international chambers worldwide and is recognized as the Country’s premier business chamber.
