Finance ministry calls for proposals for 2016 budget

Aug 27, 2015 (LBO) - Sri Lanka's Ministry of Finance has requested public and private sector institutions and the general public to submit proposals for inclusion in the proposed budget for 2016.

Building the economy, fighting corruption, ensuring freedom, developing infrastructure and investment and developing education are the new government’s "five point plan spelled out in its policy paper to create a new country in 60 months," the government information department said.

Proposals can be sent to the Trade and Investment Policy Department of the Ministry of Finance, Colombo 01 within the first two weeks of September. The Director General of the Trade and Investment policy Dept of the Finance Ministry KDN Ranjith Asoka said that if the proposals submitted contribute towards increasing efficiency and productivity further discussions will be held with proponents before arriving at a final decision.
