July 23, 2015 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s Janashakthi Insurance has appointed Husein Esufally as its new Deputy Chairman and director of the company and Jude Fernando as Chief Executive Officer, a statement said.
“Janashakthi Insurance has appointed well-known corporate leader Husein Esufally to a new position as Deputy Chairman and a non-executive independent director with effect from July 22,” the company said in a stock exchange filling.
Esufally is the Chairman of the Hemas Group and stepped down as its CEO after serving a long spell from January 2001 to March 2014.
He holds a Bacholor of Science degree for electronics from the University of Sussex and involved in several industry associations and is also a member of the Board of Management of the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM).
The statement also said that Saman Jude Fernando has been appointed as Director/CEO with effect from July 22.
Fernando is an accountant by profession and holds an MBA from the University of Wales.
