Ranjan thanks Maithri for allowing Mahinda to contest under UPFA

July 08, 2015 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s former Deputy Minister Ranjan Ramanayake says he is greatful to President Maithripala Sirisena for allowing Mahinda Rajapaksa to contest under the UPFA ticket.







“We are very greatful to the President for allowing us to criticize a corrupted group as our opponents,” Ramanayake told reporters Wednesday.



“Otherwise we have no other option but to criticize President Sirisena as our opponent.

” Ramanayake went onto say that it seems like a political plot by the President, Prime Minister and Former President Chandrika Kumaratunga. “I don’t know whether it is a plan of the President, Prime Minister and Former President Chandrika Kumaratunga to allow us attack the Rajapaksa group,” “Otherwise the President has to withdraw the accusations made by him before the Presidential election; there is no other explanation.” Ramanayake said. Politician turned actor Ranjan Ramanayake also criticized his long time friend and film director Rohan Weliwita who is the media secretary of former President Rajapaksa for not answering the charges he made at the previous press conferences.
