Dec 28, 2009 (LBO) - Aramex, a global transportation and logistics services company, has set up a joint venture with Delmege Forsyth Group, one of Sri Lanka's oldest business houses, the two firms said in a statement.









The joint venture company, Aramex Delmege Logistics, will provide a range of supply chain services, including warehousing and distribution, sea, air and ground transportation, freight forwarding consolidation and customs brokerage.

"A special focus of the new company will be services in process analysis, design and management of supply chain for Sri Lankan clients."

Othman Aljeda, chief executive Asia, Aramex, said the joint venture helps the Amman, Jordan-based firm strengthen its infrastructure and network in South Asia.

Shamil Mendis, Group Director of Delmege Forsyth Group, said their service will help customers improve operational effectiveness and rationalize the costs of their logistics.

The Delmege Forsyth Group, which dates its origin to 1850, has companies in import, marketing and distribution, and exports.
