"Pan Asia Bank with its strong understanding of Japanese investor concerns has been playing a pivotal role in securing and executing several large scale investment activities in Sri Lanka for Japanese investors," the bank said in a statement.
Sri Lanka's attractive interest rates and road shows by state and business persons had made Japanese investors interested in the island.
Bansei was introduced to the country by NWS Holdings, which has Japanese shareholders. NWS chairman Takashi Igarashi is also a director of Pan Asia Bank, one of Sri Lanka's fastest growing banks in recent years.
The bank quoted Toyohiko Murakami, President of Bansei Securities at an event to welcome him in Colombo as saying that Sri Lanka has a potential to become a hub in the region and Bansei's investment in the bank signified the economic prospects of Sri Lanka and the region.
