The Central Bank has opened a special bank account for Pramuka Bank’s customers to repay their loans, and issued a tough warning to willful defaulters. Process to liquidate Pramuka Savings & Development Bank (PSDB) is currently underway, though the Courts have yet to appoint the Director Banking Supervision the liquidator.

Customers' who want to reclaim their securities, can pop over to People's Bank Liberty Plaza Branch in Colombo 03 and repay all dues to Pramuka Account No. 010080005165.

"There were a few telephone requests asking security documents to be released on payment. Customers can now pay by cash or cheque to the specially created account," Director Bank Supervision Joan de Zilva told LBO.

Once payments are made, borrowers have to trot along to the makeshift Pramuka office at the Central Bank's Centre for Banking Studies in Rajagiriya and handover proof of payments.
