Sri Lanka on Tiger Airways Asian promotion

May 19, 2012 (LBO) - Singapore based Tiger Airways, a budget carrier, said it was kicking off a promotion to Asian destinations in June as it adds Sri Lanka to its network. "Travellers looking for a different holiday in the region will be amazed at what multi-faceted Asia has to offer," Stewart Adams, managing director of Tiger Airways Singapore said in a statement.

"Catching a spectacular view of the world’s largest blue whale colony in Sri Lanka and exploring Kochi’s breath-taking blue lagoons¦will make any traveller who thinks he has seen it all in Asia, think twice."

Tiger Airways said the promotion which will run until May 23, starts with fares as low as 22 US dollars one way including 108 US dollars between Colombo and Singapore.

Tiger Airways will start to fly to Colombo from May 31. Tourist arrivals to Sri Lanka has been surging since a 30-year civil war ended in 2009.

The airline flies to 28 Asia Pacific destinations including Malaysia, India, Bangladesh, Taiwan, Indonesia and Australia.
