“We’ll anyway have a parliamentary election soon. So we are trying to pass the 19th amendment during this week it self," "But if it gets defeated we are dissolving the parliament immediately.” UNP media spokesman Akila Viraj Kariyawasam told reporters Tuesday. However as per the Sri Lanka’s constitution, dissolving the parliament is a power vested with the President. The 19th amendment presented to the parliament on 24 March 2015 is to be debated on Thursday and Friday.
