The teas are grown mainly by regional plantations companies listed on the Colombo bourse.
The Western quality season, when teas from the area produce their best quality and fetch high prices, has been delayed this year because of bad weather.
But brokers said there were signs of quality improving.
"Overall quality of offerings particularly from the Western sector showed a fair improvement," Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers said.
"Next week a further improvement is seen in the quality of offerings particularly from the Western and Nuwara Eliya planting districts."
The brokers said all planting districts have reported extremely dry weather conditions since the beginning of February.
