"The only development is that the Sri Lanka Divisional Council, which consisted of elected members been suspended."
The statement quoted CIMA chief executive officer Charles Tilley as saying that "members and students in Sri Lanka can be assured that there will be no impact on the service and support they can expect."
Bradley Emerson chief executive and director for South Asia and the Middle East says examinations are being conducted and "all activities and services to members and students" will continue as usual.
The statement quoted Glynn Lowth, president of CIMA as saying that CIMA's commitment to Sri Lanka remains "as strong as ever."
An earlier statement from CIMA UK said the suspension of the divisional council was over a governance issue.
