More than 50 senior executives of Chinese firms are participating in a business forum in Colombo, as commercial ties between the two countries continue to strengthen. The two day China-Sri Lanka CEO Summit, to be held on May 08th and 09th has been organized with the Asian Capital Forum, a CEO club and conference organizer.

The participants have indicated that they are willing to invest up to US $ 540 million in the country if they can get the right type of medium scale Sri Lankan partners, conference director Kingsley Wickremeratne, who is also the governor of Sri Lanka™s Southern Province told LBO.

This is a great opportunity for Sri Lanka peers of business & industry to meet with Chinese investors explore possibilities and profit through joint initiatives and collaborative ventures.

Wickremeratne was a former trade minister of the Sri Lanka government.

The participants represent information technology, transport, communication, hotels, gems andn jewelery, fishing, financial and banking sectors.

Listed on the agenda are factory visits to likely Sri Lankan business partners.
