Feb 09, 2015 (LBO) – Sri Lanka warns the errant traders who hasn’t given recent budgetary relief to the consumers and has instructed the Consumers Affairs Authority (CAA) to ˜move fast’ on such issues, the ministry of Industry and Commerce said in the media release. I have received a number of complaints from the consumers that the price reductions from the recent budget have not been passed to them yet. Minister of Industry and Commerce Rishad Bathiudeen said in a statement.

Accordingly one litre of kerosene reduced by six rupees, a kilo of sugar reduced by 10 rupees, a packet of 400 gram milk powder reduced to 325 rupees, tax on wheat flour reduced by 10 percent, bringing wheat flour prices down by 12.50 rupees and a loaf of bread by 6 rupees.
