EDEX officials say country would better improve economic well being by meeting the rising demand for people in the information communication technology (ICT) sector.
"In the backdrop of emerging ICT advancement, an emerging knowledge society and knowledge economy, emerging opportunities may be favorable to us," EDEX project chairman Kamal Abesinghe, told reporters.
This year's exhibition which will focus on the ICT sector will be held from January 18 to 20 in Colombo and January 22 to 23 in Kandy.

Abesinghe says access to ICT resources in rural communities and penetration was slowly improving, though the overall ICT literacy rate of the country still remains low.
